I began Just Sewn Stories in 2013, having spent many years stitching and making sewn items for friends and family. This developed further with my exploration of textiles as an art form and creation of original textile pieces.
My practice is embroidered with layers of lived experience, which defines and informs my work in communities. I provide accessible creative workshops that allow people of all ages to participate in stitching and textile art. These workshops frequently make use of my collection of carefully restored vintage sewing machines. You can find out more about my workshops here.
My use of reclaimed and repurposed materials stems from an appreciation for the natural environment and brings attention to the excesses of our consumerist society.
